Seeds and Nuts

Sunflower seeds
One of the main stays of my store cupboard, once soaked they cream and emulsify, when mixed together with other seed act as a thicken agent. When sprouted they are delicious, taking on a peppery taste after a few days of sprouting.

Hemp Seed
Seeing what happens if you put lots of fresh hemp seed and oil into your diet, almost overdosing on E.F.A's amazing things start to happen, as they are responsible for Cellular regeneration no less. Shaman's Kitchen method for mayonnaise and dressings, creams or smoothes makes it very easy achieve this.
By adding the soaked seeds to a thickened liquid in the blender, allows the blades to work more effectively. It grinds them so fine you hardly notice they are there, just the subtle earthy, nut flavours lingering on the taste buds.
This puts potentially large amounts of hemp, simply and tastefully into your diet, turning 'things' that could be considered perhaps sinful to positively nutritious and healthy!

Shelled hemp seed
Once you remove the outer husk of the hemp seed the inner succulent nut, or fruit is revealed, added to all most any dish it adds taste and good nutrition. Once ground and dissolved with liquid it melts to create a rich cream that is positively good for you; it also takes hemp into the major league of cream alternatives.

Pumpkin seeds
Very good for you, they can be sprinkled in salads, in a pasta or as a garnish. They are also great toasted, and mixed with sunflower seeds.

Cashew
A very rich and creamy nut, one of the finest for making nut creams with. Once soaked and blended they can be used in either sweet or savoury dishes.

Almonds
The other nut that produces a fantastic cream, they can also be ground and mixed with shelled hemp seed and almonds to produce a delicious spread.

Hazel nuts
Are great ground and added to salads for example, you can soak them and make a nut cream with them but I tend to use cashews and almonds more.
